Hill Close Gardens
The nursery is associated with Hill Close Gardens, which offer an extremely rare opportunity to visit sixteen hedged Victorian pleasure gardens, reconstructed to capture the planting and personality of their original owners. The majority of the plants sold are propagated from the gardens, and many are rare or heritage varieties not usually found in garden centres. In some cases only a small number of plants have been grown so please phone to check availability before making a special visit. The number of varieties grown is constantly increasing, hence not all plants are in the catalogue.
Our specialities include collections of snowdrops, Michaelmas daisies (novi-belgii, nova-angliae and amellus) and hardy border Chrysanthemums which form part of the dispersed National Collection.
